Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Houston, TX is seeking a Transportation Engineer I or II to join a design team at the Headquarters. The role focuses on planning, design and construction of major projects with drafting skills and strong engineering fundamentals.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 4 years of related experience; Licensure as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain licensure within six months is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science (Applicable to both levels).
• 4 years engineering, transportation engineering, or related engineering experience (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).
• Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain license within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform transportation engineering work in planning, project development and design, construction, operations and maintenance.
• Assist with design, drafting and plan preparation; on-site reviews and technical support.
• Lead or train staff and manage projects within scope and deadlines.
