Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Tyler, TX is seeking a Transportation Design Engineer I, II, or III to support planning, design and project management for complex transportation projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer may be required/considered.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a state vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Plan project development, design and project management.
• Manage PS&E submission, estimates and scheduling.
• Develop layouts, sketches, plans, specifications and contracts.
• Review schematics, PS&E, and field changes for traffic control and roadway elements.
• Lead or coordinate team efforts on transportation design projects.
