Job summary

Werner Enterprises, Inc. in Naperville, IL is seeking a Transportation Manager to build and maintain driver relationships, balance home time, payroll and equipment needs, and ensure service levels align with customer expectations.

You will partner with Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads based on origin, destination and miles, while coordinating with billing, payroll, safety and other teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Marketing or Transportation/Logistics preferred.
• 2–3 years of fleet management or transportation experience in the truckload industry preferred.
• Six months to one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, computer and satellite communications systems experience required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain driver relationships through understanding and meeting driver needs (home time, payroll, equipment issues, etc.).
• Partner with the Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads based on origin, destination, freight, miles and stops.
• Interface with multiple departments (billing, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, fuel, maintenance) to support operations.
• Assist in maintaining a full board of drivers with the Dedicated Logistics Manager and/or Operations Manager.
• Attend to duties in a timely and regular attendance manner as scheduled.
