Job summary

Advanced Health Care of Colorado Springs is seeking a Transportation Driver/Coordinator to manage resident transportation to medical appointments, outings and other destinations. This Full-Time role requires coordinating schedules and ensuring safe, timely transport in line with facility policies.

Responsibilities include maintaining trip logs, coordinating with staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance while delivering compassionate, patient-centered service to residents and families.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in transportation coordination or a similar role in healthcare or senior living setting.
  • Preferred CNA license.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards for healthcare facilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record meeting company policy requirements.

  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections and address maintenance issues promptly.

  • Serve as a point of contact for transportation inquiries and requests.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy.
  • Manage transportation resources, including vehicles and fuel.
  • Develop and monitor transportation budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Description


The Transportation Driver is responsible for managing transportation services for residents of the facility. The Transportation Coordinator will oversee the scheduling and coordination of transportation to medical appointments, outings, and other destinations as needed. This role will ensure the safe and timely transportation of residents while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.


Schedule:

Full-Time, Weekdays, - AM - 5 PM, Shifts Vary


Primary Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Coordinate transportation services for residents to medical appointments, therapies, and other off-site activities.

  • Develop and maintain transportation schedules, taking into account resident needs, staff availability, and vehicle availability.

  • Communicate transportation arrangements to residents, families, and staff members in a timely and clear manner.

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing transportation services for health care facilities.

  • Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including trip logs, mileage, and vehicle maintenance records.

  • Conduct regular inspections of transportation vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and address any maintenance issues promptly.

  • Provide excellent customer service to residents and their families, addressing any concerns or special needs related to transportation services.

  • Serve as a point of contact for residents and staff members regarding transportation inquiries and requests.

  • Maintain confidentiality and respect resident privacy at all times.

  • Manage transportation resources efficiently, including vehicles, fuel, and other supplies.

  • Develop and monitor transportation budgets, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.

  • Collaborate with facility leadership to assess transportation needs and make recommendations for improvements or enhancements.

  • Perform all other duties as requested by management.


Requirements

Job Requirements:


  • Minimum of 3 years previous experience in transportation coordination or a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting.

  • We would prefer someone with their CNA License.

  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards, including those specific to healthcare facilities.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient centered approach.

  • Valid drivers license with a driving record that meets company policy requirements.


Physical Requirements:


  • Due to the nature of our business, candidates must be CNA certified.

  • Work performed in a medical setting and while operating a vehicle due to the need to transport patients to and from the facility.

  • Ability to push wheelchairs and assist residents with mobility as needed.

  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, and twist.

  • Manual dexterity and coordination for operating transportation vehicles and assisting residents.

  • Visual and auditory acuity to safely navigate traffic and communicate with residents and staff members.

  • Stamina to stand and walk for extended periods while working with patients and transporting them.

  • Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager.

  • Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
