Job summary

LAZ Parking is seeking an experienced Dispatcher/Driver to schedule and dispatch CDL drivers in Long Beach, CA. The role requires strong communication, organizational, and radio transmission skills to support our fleet and provide excellent customer service.

The position follows a standard M-F schedule, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch. A CDL and Passenger Endorsement are required, along with a DOT medical certification and 2+ years of related experience.

• Pay Rate: $24.00 an hour
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 6: 00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch ( FOLLOWS COLLEAGUE SCHEDULE )
• Days off: Saturday - Sunday

Requirements

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Passenger Endorsement required
• DOT Medical Certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience with a regular Class C license
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• K-4 DMV printout (issued within the last 30 days) required
• Recent Passenger Commercial Vehicle Driving experience

Spirit Of The Position

Dispatch plays a vital role in aiding our drivers and delivering service to our customers. Dispatchers must be proficient in oral and written English and good communicators and must have a professional disposition when transmitting on the radio to drivers and be able to support the fleet as needed. Must have a positive attitude, a strong knowledge of the area served, and be self-motivated. Must be flexible, able to multi-task and have the capacity to work calmly in a fast-paced environment. This position may require the ability to sit for extended periods of time. Additional responsibilities and required skills include:

Principal Job Duties

• Schedules and dispatches drivers.
• Answers calls from clients and schedules services.
• Maintains records, logs, and schedules of the calls received to schedule transit services, drivers dispatched, and customer cancellations or no-shows.
• Prepares reports on all activities occurring during their shifts.
• Directs drivers through radio contact.
• Track operational issues/concerns using a Customer Relations Management System.
• Report customer service and employee performance issues or concerns to appropriate management for resolution.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients, customers and employees.

Additional duties as assigned.

Education (if Needed)

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

2 + years in a dispatcher role preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to physically push/pull/lift to 50lbs
