Job summary

Fehr & Peers seeks a Transportation Design Engineer to lead evaluation and design of transportation systems for diverse communities. You will generate conceptual designs, create construction documents, and collaborate with staff and clients.

On-the-job training and mentorship from senior staff are available, with a focus on innovative, standards-based solutions. You will manage projects, allocate tasks to staff, and engage in community discussions to deliver high-quality PS&Es for complete

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in transportation, civil or electrical engineering, urban and regional planning, or related major.
• Possess a PE license or plan to obtain one.
• Experience applying Caltrans, MUTCD, and AASHTO standards on diverse projects.
• Familiar with signing, striping, and traffic signal plans; design safety countermeasures.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing tasks for engineering and planning studies.
• Performing field work and supporting construction activities.
• Preparing conceptual designs that are feasible and visually engaging.
• Producing PS&E for projects including complete streets, bikeways, and lighting.
• Managing client interaction and public engagement.
• Marketing and pursuing new projects through proposals and interviews.
