Job summary

Fehr & Peers is seeking a Transportation Design Engineer to lead evaluation, selection, and design of transportation system solutions for diverse communities.

In this role you will generate conceptual designs, collaborate with planning teams, engage clients and communities, and oversee project management to deliver high-quality outcomes while mentoring junior staff and adapting to new tools and practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in transportation, civil or electrical engineering, urban and regional planning, or related major.
• Experience with proposals and client relationships.
• Professional engineer license (PE) currently held or planned.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage tasks for engineering and planning studies.
• Perform field work and support during construction.
• Prepare conceptual designs that are accurate and feasible.
• Prepare PS&E for transportation projects including complete streets and signals.
• Manage client interaction and community engagement.
• Nurture client relationships and develop proposals.
• Mentor colleagues and receive mentorship from senior staff.
• Adopt new tools and technologies while maintaining professional judgment.
