Job summary

Fehr & Peers seeks a Transportation Design Engineer to lead evaluation, design, and documentation for diverse communities. You will generate conceptual designs, develop PS&E, and coordinate with planning teams and clients to deliver projects with quality and accountability.

You will guide staff, mentor teammates, and stay current with best practices from NACTO and related standards while embracing new tools and methods to improve mobility and accessibility.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in transportation engineering.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in transportation, civil or related fields.
• Currently hold or plan to hold a PE license.
• Experience applying Caltrans, MUTCD, and AASHTO design standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering and planning studies.
• Perform field work and support during construction.
• Prepare conceptual designs and PS&E documents.
• Manage client interaction and public engagement.
• Mentor colleagues and drive project delivery.
