Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Tyler, Texas is seeking Transportation Design Engineers I, II or III to support planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of critical transportation infrastructure across an eight-county district. Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related science.
• Licenses/Certification: Valid driver’s license; Professional Engineer license preferred or required per Texas guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of transportation infrastructure including traffic signals, illumination systems, signing, pavement markings and ITS technologies.
• Collaborate with local governments, law enforcement and regional partners to advance district priorities and improve safety and mobility.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
