Qualifications

  • Education: High School Grad or Equivalent.
  • Experience: 6–8 years drafting, design, plan preparation depending on level.
  • Valid driver’s license; state vehicle operation may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs advanced and specialized drafting and calculations in support of design activities; develops graphic presentations that include distinctive design features.
  • Performs traffic engineering design work, analyzes traffic and accident data and recommends solutions for traffic problems.
  • Prepares roadway design, traffic control, lighting, signal, and building plans.
  • Reviews entire sets of plans for format, drafting and calculation errors and correlation of plans and specifications.
  • Receives project assignments, determines work requirements and coordinates scheduling to accommodate ongoing projects.
  • Writes general notes, specifications and provisions in design documents.
