Job summary

Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) in Pueblo is seeking a Professional Engineer licensed roadway design engineer. You will manage design from scoping through advertisement, prepare plans and estimates, and coordinate with partners while providing technical oversight and mentoring less experienced engineers.

You will work in a hybrid schedule, with in-office and field activity, travel across the Pueblo region, and a focus on safety, quality, and compliance with CDOT standards.

Qualifications

• Current, valid Professional Engineer licensure in Colorado or another state.
• Ability to obtain Colorado licensure within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full design process from scoping to advertisement for roadway projects.
• Prepare construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and project management documentation.
• Provide technical oversight to ensure compliance with CDOT policies and design standards.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and partners.
• Mentor junior engineers and support the Resident Engineer on special tasks.
