Job summary

Ulteig Engineers seeks a Technical Manager in Colorado to lead the Colorado transportation design team, delivering quality roadway projects while mentoring engineers and strengthening client relationships. The role blends project leadership with people development in a seller-doer model.

The ideal candidate has a PE pursuit, strong communication, and 8+ years in transportation engineering. This on-site leadership position reports to an Associate Director and supports CDOT and local agencies.

Qualifications

B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
Civil Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred; PTOE, AICP, or other relevant credentials may be considered.
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in transportation engineering, roadway design, traffic, planning, construction, or related field.
Experience with CDOT/local agencies is preferred.
Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Provide project and technical leadership for transportation design work.
Lead, coach, and develop transportation professionals.
Balance billable project delivery with client engagement and pursuits.
Support a seller-doer model by strengthening client relationships and delivery quality.
Mentor staff and create opportunities for engineers to grow.
