Job summary

VS Engineering in South Bend, IN is seeking a Transportation Design Engineer to independently lead design tasks for transportation projects in our South Bend, IN office. This is a fantastic growth-oriented role offering training and project management exposure during a pivotal time for our company.

We look for a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program, with 4–8 years of public sector experience. PE exam is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
• Passed Professional Engineer (PE) exam preferred.
• 4-8 years relevant work experience in public sector work.

Responsibilities

• Assisting office leadership in the preparation of proposal documents and preliminary project evaluations.
• Developing peer network with staff at other firms and public agencies to enhance personal and firm relationships during project coordination efforts.
• Coordinating project tasks and reporting to project manager and supervisory staff to assist in budget, schedule, and project status tracking.
• Supporting Indianapolis and regional offices on a variety of infrastructure projects.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program
• Passed Professional Engineering (PE) exam (preferred)
• 4-8 years relevant work experience in public sector work preferred
