VS Engineering is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for its Bridges & Structures team in Lafayette, Indiana. You will lead design efforts, oversee project deliverables, and collaborate with seasoned professionals to advance civil infrastructure projects across the region.

The role emphasizes ownership of design documents, coordination with clients, and mentoring junior staff, with opportunities for growth in technical and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• PE license in Indiana or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• 7+ years of bridge engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Provide technical expertise in structural design and constructability.
• Review, certify, and seal design documents as required.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subconsultants.
• Support project scope, schedule, and budget coordination with the Project Manager.
• Participate in client and stakeholder meetings.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote design best practices.

Requirements

What You Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• PE license in Indiana (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
• 7+ years of bridge engineering experience
• Strong technical, communication, and coordination skills
