Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Data Steward to shape how data is defined, shared, and reused across our Transportation Business Group. This is a leadership role embedded in the BG, not an IT or compliance position, focused on enabling better decisions and project delivery through data clarity.

The role coordinates subject matter experts, promotes data fluency, and drives adoption of data standards and tools across HDR’s delivery teams. Location: US offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 10 years in data/engineering context.
• Minimum 10 years of strategic leadership experience with data-centric solutions.
• Experience building and leading diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work with senior leaders, operations managers and directors.
• Commitment to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Define technical standards for Transportation data and align with enterprise expectations.
• Coordinate SME network to define data definitions and ensure consistency across domains.
• Promote data quality, access controls, and reuse of data across BG.
• Lead change management to drive adoption of data standards and tools.
• Communicate with Enterprise Data Science Teams and Data Operations staff.
• Establish repeatable data practices for data capture, structure, and governance.
• Support governance of externally sourced datasets and data lifecycle considerations.
