Base pay range
$42,000.00/yr - $45,000.00/yr
Reports To: Transportation Supervisor or Manager
Summary
The position provides support to MD Logistics and MD Express Transportation Services customers. Responsible for the processing of customer orders and/or customer invoicing, includes coordination with customer supply chain, procurement, and billing representatives, carriers, warehouses and shippers. The Transportation Coordinator position works with all divisions of the company and must be able to effectively interact with any level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.
- Arranges transportation with different service providers on behalf of customers
- Enters and maintains daily shipments into scheduling calendar and transportation dispatch system (Dr. D)
- Works with vendor and/or customer web portals to schedule appointments; onboards new portal vendors
- Supports Customer Service teams (internal and external) in all transportation processes, including routing freight, portal management, and rate-shopping
- Makes freight routing decisions on shipments
- Ensures master data (vendor, customer, carrier, etc.) is complete and accurate in the system
- Prepares, organizes, and files shipping and/or invoicing documents (ie BOL, POD, Customs paperwork, Pricing sheets, Compliance documentation, labels, etc.)
- Accurately transfers or inputs information and data into the financial system (i.e. payroll, vendor bills, freight bills into QuickBooks) and maintains accuracy
- Assists with customer billing issues and/or prepares customer invoices
- Maintains Bi-Weekly Accounts Payable reports and accurate Accounts Receivable files
- Manages daily /weekly tasks associated with department requirements and customer requests
- Other miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications

- Proficiency in MSOffice, intermediate Excel skills
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Extreme attention to detail
- Professional phone manner and communication skills
- Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus
- Use of TMS, transportation dispatch and quoting systems a plus
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Advanced degree or Certificate a plus. Prior customer service experience in distribution/transportation a plus.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to physically count, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
REASONING ABILILTY
Ability to define problems establishes facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm
