Job description

We are looking to hire an exceptionally passionate, multitasking, and detail-oriented individual who is self-motivated and experienced in supporting a transportation team with daily administrative tasks.

What will your job involve?

  1. Maintain inter-departmental communication between our plant operations, sales, and field operations teams.
  2. Using Nextraq, logs, and other documents, track and monitor driver activity, such as excessive stop times, idling, and speeding.
  3. Work with administration and production staff to ensure accurate and efficient creation of manifests.
  4. Coordinate scheduled vehicle servicing and address equipment issues to improve vehicle performance.
  5. Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness, cleanliness, and proper driver operation.
  6. Prepare and distribute memorandums for effective driver communication.
  7. Analyze route efficiencies to maximize cost savings.
  8. Ensure driver compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and address any non-conformance.
  9. Maintain high quality of customer service with minimal errors.
  10. Oversee the quality assurance of smart containers loaded into trucks before and after trips.
  11. Review load sheets to ensure order accuracy according to customer requirements prior to shipping.
  12. Assist in implementing new processes, procedures, and guidelines to enhance quality and cost control.
  13. Support projects aimed at improving logistics processes.
  14. Monitor drivers’ Hours of Service and ensure DOT compliance.
  15. Manage daily emails with vendors and customers.
  16. Assist the Transportation Supervisor with various projects and tasks.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Transportation Support and/or dispatch.
  2. Box truck driving experience is required.
  3. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  4. Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Understanding of transportation and logistics practices.
  7. Knowledge of customer needs assessments, service quality standards, and customer satisfaction evaluation.
  8. Team-oriented with a positive work attitude.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
