Description

Assists residents with loading and unloading from facility-approved vehicles. Ensures the safe transportation of residents to scheduled medical appointments, activities, outings, etc. Maintains the interior and exterior of facility vehicles to promote safety and comfort, and projects a positive community image. Monitors vehicle maintenance logs and arranges for scheduled maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Must be flexible with work hours, especially if resident appointments or activities run late. Must have training and demonstrate safe clinical transfer techniques, including:

1. Ingress and egress of mobile patients with vans
2. Transfer of patients into and out of wheelchairs
3. Properly securing wheelchair-bound residents in vans

Ability to lift, transfer, and mobilize patients weighing up to 70 pounds in confined van spaces is required. Must be capable of making complex decisions involving highly dependent patients.

Supervisory Requirements

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 25 years
• Valid driver’s license
• Familiarity with GPS and local driving area
• No recent traffic crimes such as DUI, reckless driving, or traffic felonies
• Maximum of two moving violations and one accident in the past three years
• Pass drug screening and background check

• Ability to read, write, and understand instructions and manuals

• Basic math skills including fractions, percentages, and ratios
• Problem-solving and interpretative skills

Licenses and Certifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Completed CNA training and maintained CE credits for certification

Physical Demands
