Job Summary:

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for providing safe, reliable transportation for clients to and from the facility, as well as other designated locations. The Transportation Coordinator will interact with clients respectfully, maintaining a supportive and non-judgmental demeanor. This role also includes assisting with various logistical tasks to support the smooth operation of the treatment program.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Transportation Services:
  • Safely transport clients to and from the facility, ensuring adherence to scheduled pick-up and drop-off times.
  • Provide transportation for clients to off-site appointments, meetings, or other necessary services as directed by the program.
  • Ensure the vehicle is well-maintained, clean, and regularly serviced.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Maintain a supportive and non-judgmental attitude when interacting with clients.
    • Ensure clients feel safe and comfortable during transport.
    • Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy regulations.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Follow all traffic laws and facility policies regarding transportation.
    • Conduct regular safety checks on the vehicle before each trip.
    • Report any accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle issues immediately to the supervisor.
    • Ensure all passengers wear seat belts and adhere to safety protocols during transportation.
  • Administration:
    • Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance.
    • Complete and submit transportation logs and reports as required.
    • Assist with other logistical tasks or errands as requested by facility staff.
  • Program Support:
    • Assist in monitoring clients' well-being during transport, reporting any concerning behavior or issues to the appropriate staff.
    • Provide assistance to clients during intake and discharge processing as needed.
    • Support other facility operations as necessary, including assisting with the delivery of supplies or materials.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Some college preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in a similar driving role, preferably in a healthcare or SUD setting.
    • Experience working with individuals in recovery or a similar environment is preferred.
    • At least four years licensed driving experience.
    • At least 5 years of a clean driving record.
  • Skills:
    • Empathy and understanding of individuals dealing with substance use disorders.
    • Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy.
    • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
    • Patience and a non-judgmental approach.
