RS&H, Inc. in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support the Resident Engineer in managing roadway and bridge construction projects. You will oversee field inspection staff and contractor operations, and review estimates and change orders.

The role emphasizes coordination with owners and stakeholders, adherence to contract documents, and timely schedules. A Civil Engineering or Construction Management background and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited university.
• 8–10 years of experience with major road or bridge construction.
• Experience managing construction projects, including contract administration, pay estimates, change orders, and schedule review.
• Must obtain any required certifications and pass tests in specified time frames.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently.
• Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks.
• Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protection.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support the Resident Engineer in managing the construction and inspection of roadway and bridge projects.
• Oversee field inspection staff and contractor operations.
• Prepare and review progress and final estimates; evaluate change orders and claims.
• Review project schedules and interpret contract documents; check engineering calculations.
• Act as a primary point of contact for owners, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Contribute to project team on transportation projects in Tucson, AZ.
