Job summary

RS&H in Houston, TX is seeking a Field Engineer for our Transportation-Construction Management team. You will help manage field inspections of roadway and bridge projects, prepare progress and final estimates, and check calculations against contract documents.

Responsibilities include drafting engineering solutions in MicroStation, overseeing contractors, and ensuring work conforms to plans and specs. A PE license in Texas or eligibility within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience with major road or bridge construction.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Must obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate tests in timeframes.
• Good verbal and written communication skills required.
• Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage field inspection of roadway and bridge transportation projects.
• Prepare and submit progress and final estimates and check calculations.
• Interpret contract documents and draft engineering solutions in MicroStation.
• Oversee contractors to ensure work conforms to plans and specifications.
