Job summary

RS&H is seeking a Field Engineer for their Transportation-Construction Management team in Austin, TX. This role involves managing field inspections of roadway and bridge projects, preparing estimates, and overseeing contractors to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, at least 5 years of related experience, and the ability to obtain a Professional Engineer license in Texas. The job also provides a variety of benefits including paid time off and 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with major road or bridge construction.
• Must obtain required certifications within specified time frames.
• Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Manage field inspection of roadway and bridge transportation projects.
• Prepare and submit progress and final estimates.
• Check engineering calculations and interpret contract documents.

Skills

Good verbal and written communication skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protection

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas

Tools

CADD software (preferably MicroStation)
