Job summary

RS&H in Houston, Texas seeks a Field Engineer to join our Transportation-Construction Management team. You will manage field inspections of roadway and bridge projects, prepare progress and final estimates, check calculations, and interpret contract documents to ensure plans are followed.

Draft engineering solutions in MicroStation for contractors and owners, and oversee field activities to keep projects on schedule and within specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with major road or bridge construction.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Must obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualifications tests for the position in specified time frames.
• Good verbal and written communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Manage field inspections for roadway and bridge projects.
• Prepare and submit progress and final estimates.
• Check engineering calculations and interpret contract documents.
• Draft engineering solutions in MicroStation for contractors and owners.
• Oversee contractors to ensure projects are built within plan and specification conformity.
