Job summary

RS&H, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to join our Transportation-Construction Management team. You will manage field inspections for roadway and bridge projects, prepare estimates, and ensure compliance with contract documents.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 4+ years of road/bridge experience, and a Texas PE (or ability to obtain within 6 months). Proficiency in MicroStation and Microsoft Office is preferred, with a valid driver's license and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience with major road or bridge construction.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Must obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualifications tests for the position in specified time frames.
• Good verbal and written communication skills required.
• Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Manage the field inspection of roadway and bridge transportation projects.
• Prepare and submit progress and final estimates.
• Check engineering calculations, interpret contract documents, and draft engineering solutions in MicroStation for contractors and owners.
• Oversee contractors to ensure projects are built within reasonable plan and specification conformity.
