Job Description

MEC is looking for Full-time TRANSPORTATION CONSTRUCTION INSPECTORS (TCI-1 or higher) with experience working on heavy highway, bridge, airport runways & taxiways, and other transportation construction projects. The positions will be located within the western PA area.

Job Responsibilities:

• Inspect highway, bridge, airport runways & taxiways, and transportation construction projects.
• Perform tests on construction materials and evaluate technical data.
• Read and interpret construction codes, plans, standards, and specifications.
• Perform cost estimating, computations, and calculations.
• Work independently, make technical decisions, and collaborate with team members.
• Communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Utilize MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, cloud-based systems, and mobile devices.
• Perform fieldwork and possess a valid driver’s license.

Minimum Experience:

• Three (3) years of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience, or at least one-year experience as a PennDOT TCI-1 or higher, OR
• An Associate’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering.

Certifications:

• At least one of the following: PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification, NECEPT Field Technician Certification, NICET Level II Certification or higher in Highway Construction.
