Job summary

Egis in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector to join our growing team. This role involves supervising inspectors, reviewing plans and specifications, and coordinating with clients and contractors on road and bridge projects in a fast-paced environment.

The position may evolve into a supervisory capacity, requiring strong leadership, scheduling, and problem-solving skills, with willingness to work weekends or off-hours on assigned projects.

Qualifications

• Must have prior supervisory or managerial experience in transportation construction inspection.
• Proficient in reading complex contract plans and specs.
• Knowledge of PennDOT or PTC specifications and standards is required.
• NICET Level 2 or higher and NECEPT certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, reviews, and assigns work of construction field office personnel including Lochner staff, sub-consultants and partners
• Supervises a team of inspectors responsible for monitoring work quality and performance
• Reviews project activities with client and contractor's field supervision to resolve disputes and other project issues
• Read and interpret complex contract plans and specifications
• Read and interpret construction contract language
• Monitor Contractor progress and compare with reviewed Progress Schedule
• Review/coordinate and prepare responses to project correspondence, RFIs and technical submittals
• Proactively manage construction changes and claims and work with client to resolve
• Leads construction meetings with clients and contractors
• Other duties as assigned
