Job summary
Egis is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector to join our Pittsburgh team, leading inspection activities on road and bridge projects and reporting to a supervisor/manager. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and on-time delivery in collaboration with clients and contractors.
You will interpret plans and specs, manage a team of inspectors, coordinate with PennDOT standards, and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Experience as Transportation Construction Inspection Supervisor/Manager on road and bridge projects; PennDOT preferred.
- Ability to lead a team of inspectors.
- Strong knowledge of construction plans, specs, and standards.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Willingness to work weekends, nights, and swing shifts.
Responsibilities
- Plan, review, and assign work of field office personnel including Lochner staff and partners.
- Supervise a team of inspectors monitoring work quality and performance.
- Review project activities with client and contractor's field supervision to resolve disputes.
- Read and interpret complex contract plans, specifications, and language.
- Monitor contractor progress and compare with Progress Schedule; manage RFIs and submittals.
- Lead construction meetings with clients and contractors.
