Job summary

Egis is seeking a motivated Bridge Inspection Team Leader to support inspection and transportation infrastructure projects across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. You will lead routine and specialized inspections, document findings, and coordinate with engineers, contractors, and agencies to ensure safe, compliant structures.

The role requires 4–7 years of bridge inspection experience, SNBI familiarity, and a valid driver’s license to travel regionally.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering required.
Minimum 4–7 years of bridge inspection experience.
Experience on MassDOT or RIDOT bridge inspections.
Familiarity with SNBI requirements and FHWA procedures.
Completion of FHWA/NHI Bridge Inspection Training Course.
Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and engineering plans.
Physically able to work at heights, at night, and in adverse weather.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Valid driver’s license with ability to travel across MA and New England.

Responsibilities

Perform routine, in-depth, fracture-critical, and special bridge inspections in accordance with SNBI.
Plan and execute bridge inspections.
Conduct field assessments of bridge components (superstructure, substructure, bearings, decks, joints, ancillary structures).
Document deficiencies, deterioration, and maintenance needs with notes, photos, sketches, and inspection software.
Prepare bridge inspection reports and condition assessments.
Review existing plans, prior reports, and load rating information before inspections.
Coordinate traffic control and safety procedures.
Support structural evaluations and asset management tasks as needed.
Maintain OSHA safety compliance and company safety policies.
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, municipalities, and state agencies on deliverables.
