Job summary

GAI Consultants is seeking Transportation Construction Supervisors to oversee field staff on road, highway, and bridge projects in Western Pennsylvania. You will supervise inspection teams, ensure contract and code compliance, and manage daily documentation from active sites.

The role requires a civil engineering or construction management background, strong QA/QC knowledge, and proven highway inspection experience. Travel to multiple project sites in the region is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate or BS in civil engineering or construction management.
• Proven highway inspector or supervisor experience.
• Knowledge of PennDOT specs and QA/QC.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations for lengths, areas, and volumes.
• Proficient with field documentation using tablets/apps.
• Team-oriented with leadership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inspection staff and document daily on-site construction activities.
• Ensure contract compliance with documents and codes.
• Communicate with contractors, consultants, engineers, and job superintendents.
• Review daily inspection reports, photos, discrepancies, and corrective actions.
• Check shop drawings and contractor quotations for variations.
• Review quantities and costs of materials.
• Review erosion control and BMPs for proper function.
• Approve contractors' payment claims and recommendations.
• Attend site meetings.
