Job summary

STV Incorporated is seeking a Construction Inspector II to support roadway, bridge and transit construction in the Washington, DC Metro area. You will perform field inspections, monitor safety and contractor compliance, and assist project teams on multi-million dollar projects.

The role requires 2+ years of CM/CEI experience and ABET-accredited degree in civil engineering or related field, with on-site testing, documentation, and coordination with utilities and government agencies.

Qualifications

• Requires 2+ years CM/CEI experience with an associate degree or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from ABET-accredited university.
• Certifications required within 6 months include VD0T/VDOT related fields and safety training.
• Must obtain several field certifications (Pavement marking, Surface Treatment, Slurry Surfacing, GRIT, DEQ inspections) within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection on roadway, bridge, and transit projects.
• Monitor contractor compliance with plans, specs and safety.
• Read and interpret plans and specs; perform QC/QA testing on-site.
• Prepare daily inspection reports; assist PM and Resident Engineer as needed.
• Lead inspector on small projects (<= $5M) and coordinate with utilities and stakeholders.
