Job summary

CTDOT CEI process familiarity and strong problem-solving are essential. Required NICET 1 with 4+ years in construction engineering/inspection, plus a valid license to work on-site. Preferred Civil Engineering degree and related certifications.

Qualifications

• NICET Level 1 certification with 4+ years in construction engineering and inspection.
• Strong understanding of CTDOT CEI processes, contract administration, and documentation.
• Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.
• Valid driver's license; ability to work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction activities related to highways, bridges, facilities, or rail projects.
• Review contractor submissions for compliance with specs and regulations.
• Identify nonconforming work and ensure timely corrective action.
• Review project documents: RFIs, submittals, daily reports, change orders.
• Complete daily work reports with photos and progress documentation.
• Track quantities of work performed by the contractor.
• Resolve field construction problems and challenges.
