Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Durchführung von Routineprüfungen an Materialien wie Beton und Böden.

Transportation Construction Inspector

Ranked #50 on Engineering News-Record's Top 500 Design Firms, we are seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector for our Virginia Construction Management Team.

This position involves applying standard inspection procedures during and after construction to ensure structural quality, safety, and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes. This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship, except for TN visa classification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations.
2. Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
3. Measure dimensions and verify levels, alignments, and elevations of structures, fixtures, grades, and pavements.
4. Maintain record documents and make field notes and computations.

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Strong computer proficiency.
• Active driver's license and successful completion of JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (or relevant experience).
• 1-4 years of roadway construction inspection experience.

Preferred Experience

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Client-requested certifications such as VDOT: Soils & Aggregate, Asphalt I & II, Pavement Marking, GRIT; DEQ: E&S and SWM Inspector; Intermediate Workzone; Nuclear Safety; ACI-Concrete Field Tech.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field, often outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting objects up to 25 lbs is required.
