Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Review plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods for compliance and safety.
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
• Measure dimensions, verify levels, alignments, and elevations to ensure adherence to plans and codes.
• Maintain records and document field notes and computations.

Additional Duties:

• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Skills Required:

• Strong computer skills.
• Active driver's license and successful completion of JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.

Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent (or relevant experience).
• 1-4 years of construction inspection experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Certifications such as VDOT Soils & Aggregate, Asphalt, Pavement Marking, GRIT; DEQ E&S and SWM Inspector; etc.

Working Conditions:

Fieldwork involving bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, lifting objects up to 25 lbs, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
