Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Transportation, Logistics, Chemistry, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in domestic and international transportation regulations, rail/highway/marine ops, pipeline, customs or related.
• Strong adaptability in changing environments and uncertainty.
• Proven relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, esp. Excel (intermediate/advanced).
• Excellent verbal and written communication, plus strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel ~25%.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of federal, state, local and international transportation regulations (UN, PHMSA, DOT, TC, IMDG, IATA, ADR).
• Interpret regulatory changes and advise facilities and business groups.
• Serve as backup contact for transportation regulatory agencies and respond to information requests.
• Provide day-to-day regulatory guidance for hazardous material shipments.
• Review product safety data sheets for transportation implications.
• Develop procedures and training materials on transportation topics.
• Advise on hazardous gas and liquid pipeline regulations and permits.
• Coordinate with Rail Maintenance for certifications and QA programs.
• Assist with customs compliance and CTPAT activities.
