Job summary

Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, invites a Transportation Civil Engineer to work on cutting‑edge roadway design projects for state agencies and large municipalities in New England.

You will collaborate with our civil engineers to deliver designs incorporating multimodal facilities, traffic calming, urban street improvements, ADA accessibility, drainage and utility coordination, and green infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• 4–8 years' experience in roadway design and construction documents.
• PE license or ability to obtain license.
• Experience with MassDOT/NHDOT/MaineDOT guidelines.
• Proficiency with 3D roadway models and alignments.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise from conceptual design to final design.
• Support construction phase services.
• Coordinate with architects, environmental, geotechnical, survey, and traffic teams.
• Assist project managers in roadway design and construction documentation.
• Prepare detailed civil design plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Ensure deliverables meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
