Job summary

Kleinfelder seeks a Transportation Civil Engineer to work on cutting-edge roadway design projects for state agencies and large municipalities in the New England area. You will collaborate with civil engineers and multidisciplinary experts to deliver designs that incorporate multimodal facilities, drainage, and green infrastructure.

The role supports hybrid work across our New England offices, including Boston, Springfield, Worcester, Rocky Hill, Portland, and Manchester.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• 4-8 years' experience in the design and preparation of construction contract documents for roadway design projects.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license, or the ability and motivation to obtain license.
• Experience with MassDOT, NHDOT or MaineDOT design guidelines and standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation - InRoads/OpenRoads, AutoTURN.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on projects from conceptual to final design.
• Provide technical expertise on projects through construction phase services.
• Coordinate with architects, bridge, environmental, geotechnical, survey, and traffic professionals for multi-disciplinary deliverables.
• Assist project managers in roadway design, utility coordination, and construction documents development.
• Prepare detailed civil design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages.
• Ensure outputs meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
