Job summary

Watco is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to manage day-to-day freight movements across shipments and accounts. You will solicit carriers, build relationships, and ensure timely, cost-effective solutions that meet customer needs while supporting branch goals.

The role requires teamwork and strong communication. Proficiency with Excel, RMIS/TMS tools, and reliable data entry will help optimize routing, pricing, and service levels across Watco's network.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation or supply chain roles.
• Strong communication and time-management abilities.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, and data entry basics.

Responsibilities

• Broker transportation shipments and secure carrier capacity.
• Trace and trace customer shipments.
• Provide customer support to meet their needs and address issues.
• Conduct spot pricing, rate negotiations to meet margin requirements, and ensure maximum profitability.
• Manage carrier base procurement, rate negotiations, and daily execution.
• Meet all customer compliance requirements including level of service and communication timeframe.
• Engage in customer and carrier communication to sustain growth.
• Develop and manage a network of outside carriers to move freight profitably.
