Brookwood Care Community in Cincinnati seeks a Transportation staff member responsible for safely moving residents to activities and medical appointments. You will coordinate with departments, arrange field trips, and participate in ongoing training to ensure reliable service and resident safety.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate residents' transportation for activities with the Activities department.

• Develop good working rapport with facility departments.
• Attend orientation and in-service training programs.
• Report vehicle issues to Maintenance immediately.
• Drive the Facility's vehicle to events outside the Facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Activities department regarding transporting residents to scheduled activities

• Coordinate with Facility medical and nursing personnel regarding transporting residents to scheduled medical appointments

• Arrange transportation for field trips when necessary

• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with other departments within the Facility

• Assist in developing volunteer recreation assignments

• Attend and participate in regularly scheduled orientation and in-service training programs

• Report any known or potential mechanical problems or repairs with the Facility's vehicle to the Maintenance Director immediately

• Use protective clothing or devices when handling infectious waste and/or blood/body fluids

• Report missing or illegible labels and MSDSs to your Supervisor

• Ensure that emergency equipment (i.e. triangles, fire extinguisher, and first-aid kit) are available and in good working condition

• Drive Facility's vehicle to events and activities outside the Facility, as necessary

• Transport residents to medical appointments and recreational activities according to established schedules and allotted times

• Maintain an incident and accident-free driving record

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent

• Must possess a class C driver's license

• Must have a clean driving record

• Must be able to understand the English language

• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion

• Must be knowledgeable of supply practices, procedures, and guidelines

• Must possess the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.

• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices

• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
