Job summary

TCI Transportation is seeking an experienced Reefer / Transport Refrigeration Technician in Converse, Texas. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems on trailers, with a focus on Thermo King and Carrier Transicold equipment.

The role requires 2–4 years of mechanical or refrigeration experience, EPA 608 certification, and a valid CDL with air-brake, or willingness to obtain them. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

• Experience with transport refrigeration systems (Thermo King/Carrier) desirable.

Shift: Monday through Friday - $28.51 to $37.00 per hour depending on skills and experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair transport refrigeration systems.

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on refrigerated trailers and refrigeration units.

What We’re Looking For

• 2–4 years of mechanical or refrigeration experience, with 3+ years preferred.

• Experience with transport refrigeration systems, including Thermo King or Carrier Transicold, highly desirable.

• Experience diagnosing and repairing refrigeration components.

• EPA Section 608 certification required and must remain current.

• Ability to use industry tools and diagnostic equipment.

• Basic computer skills and ability to document repairs.

• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Vocational or technical training preferred.

• ASE certifications a plus.

• CDL with air brake qualifications preferred, or willingness to obtain one.

Minimum Requirements

2-4 years mechanical / refrigeration experience required.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Vocational / Technical or certification preferred.

Specialized training and experience in the overhaul of refrigeration components required.

ASE Certification preferred.

608 certifications required. Must keep certifications current / valid.

Proficiency in the use of all necessary tools of trade required.

Current CDL license with air brake certification preferred. Willingness to acquire CDL if you do not have one.

Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required

The ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment is required.
