Job summary

Peak Industrial Company is seeking a dedicated technician with experience in transport refrigeration repair to join our Washington-based team. The ideal candidate works well in a team, is committed to quality, and learns quickly.

You will service Thermo King, Carrier and other refrigeration equipment on trucks, trailers, and containers, perform diagnostics, document work orders, and contribute to a safe, productive shop and mobile service environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Experience operating an over-the-road service truck and ability to drive one after 3–6 months.
• Valid driver's license and insurable under employer policy.
• Compliance with federal, state, local safety standards.
• Familiar with Thermo King and other transport refrigeration equipment.
• Certified to use refrigerants (R134a, R404, R410, and others).
• Ability to use a laptop to diagnose/reference manuals.

• Diagnose and repair/replace compressors, coils, electrical components.
• Use diagnostic equipment to flash controllers, diagnose alarms, and implement repairs.
• Record all work on repair orders and submit daily.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Follow procedures to track work and complete forms.
• Ensure timely completion per company regulations and supervisor directions.

Job description

We are looking for a dedicated, hardworking technician with experience in the transport refrigeration equipment repair field. Technician needs to be team-oriented, committed to quality work and a quick learner.

Responsibilities

• Performing preventative maintenance procedures and repairs on Thermo King, Carrier and other refrigeration equipment for trucks, trailers and containers with little or no supervision
• Diagnose and repair/replace compressors, coils, electrical components, etc
• Use diagnostic equipment to flash controller, diagnose alarms, implement repairs, etc
• Use repair orders to record all work performed and submit on a daily basis
• Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner
• Follow established procedures to track work and complete forms connected with work assignments
• Ensure timely completion of work according to company regulations and procedures, and instruction from Lead, Supervisor, or Manager

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment
• Experience operating an over the road service truck and capable of running one after 3-6 months of employment
• Maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the employer's insurance policy
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local government and company standards for reliability and safety
• Familiar with Thermo King and other transport refrigeration equipment
• Have good verbal and written communications skills
• Certified to use refrigerants, R134a, R404, R410, and others as needed
• May be required to use a laptop computer to diagnose and/or reference repair manuals
• May work in a shop, at our yard or out of a mobile service vehicle
• Must be willing to be in an emergency after-hours on-call rotation
• Willingness to perform additional duties/assignments as may be required by management
