Qualifications

  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • EMT or Paramedic credentialing required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients.

Benefit options and eligibility vary by position. Compensation varies based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, performance and salary range at the time of the offer.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the transport team.
  2. Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility as part of the transport team in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse.
  3. Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
  4. Contact receiving medical personnel, report observations and follow directives.
  5. Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
  6. May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  1. BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  2. One or more of the following required:
    1. Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    2. Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    3. Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    4. Certification specializing in ER Vehicle Operation preferred.
    5. Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
    6. Drivers License preferred.
    7. Instructor specializing in Pediatric Adv Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    8. Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    9. Certified Prehospital Trauma Life Support preferred.

Education:

  1. High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience

Work Experience:

  1. Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
