Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, telecommunications, or related field of study
• Associate's degree with 2 years relevant work experience
• HS diploma/GED with 4 years relevant work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Support AEP Fiber Optic, Microwave and P.25 800Mhz radio systems (Transport Systems).
• Shared 24x7x365 on-call with 6 other engineers
• Break/Fix support of AEP Transport network systems
• Remotely support project-based field change control work associated with deploying Fiber Optic, Microwave and P.25 radio systems
• Follow the AEP change management process and AEP standard for changing any configuration in the network including peer reviews on field transport impacting changes
• Documentation upkeep – ServiceNow Asset, Monitoring Systems, Process Docs, Timekeeping, Goal Performance, Status Reporting, Change Control,
• Project Task and time scheduling management/meetings

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering/engineering technology/computer science/telecommunications
