Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a board-certified or -eligible Transplant Nephrologist to join its expanding abdominal transplant program within a collaborative academic environment.

The role blends transplant nephrology with general nephrology, offering involvement in organ offers, recipient selection, and program development while contributing to teaching and research within Albany Medical College.

Qualifications

• Fellowship training in Transplant Nephrology from an accredited program.
• MD/DO or equivalent with board certification or eligibility in Nephrology.
• Eligible for medical licensure in New York.

Responsibilities

• Combined practice in transplant nephrology and general nephrology.
• Inpatient transplant care and multidisciplinary rounds.
• Medical management of kidney transplant recipients, including immunosuppression and graft evaluation.
• Equally shared coverage of transplant-related inpatient consults and nephrology calls.
• Outpatient transplant clinics including pre-transplant evaluations, living donor evaluations, and post-transplant follow-up.
