Albany Medical College invites a board-certified or eligible Transplant Nephrologist to join its growing abdominal transplant program within the Albany Med Health System. The role blends transplant nephrology with general nephrology, offering opportunities in teaching, clinical collaboration, and program leadership.

The ideal candidate will have recent transplant nephrology experience, strong communication, and a commitment to patient-centered care and academic medicine.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent degree with nephrology board certification or eligibility.
• Fellowship training in Transplant Nephrology from an accredited program.
• Academic experience or interest for appointment at the Assistant/Associate Professor level.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient transplant care and multidisciplinary rounds.
• Medical management of kidney transplant recipients, including immunosuppression and graft function.
• Shared coverage of transplant-related inpatient consults and nephrology call.
• Participation in outpatient clinics: pre-transplant, living donor, and post-transplant follow-up.
• Engagement in program expansion, quality improvement, and organ offer discussions.
