Albany Medical College seeks a board-certified or board-eligible Transplant Nephrologist to join its growing abdominal transplant program. The role blends transplant nephrology with general nephrology in a collaborative, academic environment.

The ideal candidate will manage kidney transplant recipients across inpatient and outpatient settings and participate in multidisciplinary rounds, education, and program development as Albany Medical Center expands its transplant services.

Qualifications

• Fellowship training in Transplant Nephrology.
• MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Nephrology.
• Strong communication and collaborative, team‑oriented approach to care.
• Academic experience or interest sufficient for appointment at Assistant or Associate Professor level.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient transplant care and multidisciplinary rounds.
• Outpatient transplant clinics including pre-transplant recipient evaluations, living donor evaluations, and post-transplant follow-up.
• Engagement in organ offer review and recipient selection discussions as transplant volume grows.
• Participation in quality improvement and transplant program development initiatives.
• Teaching opportunities with residents, fellows, medical students, and advanced practice providers.
