Qualifications

• Experience in transplant coordination or financial counseling preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance regulations and health care billing.

• Ability to interact with multiple hospital roles.

Responsibilities

• Researches and verifies insurance coverage for transplant patients.
• Obtains pre-certifications and authorizations for transplant episodes.
• Provides financial counseling on insurance options to candidates and patients.
• Develops financial profiles for patients with limited or no insurance.
• Coordinates transplant evaluations and gathers external records.
• Generates reports for transplant administrators.
• Maintains awareness of hospital transplant contracts.
• Completes Medicare enrollment for kidney transplant recipients.
