Lehigh Valley Health Network's Transplant program seeks a dedicated Transplant Financial Coordinator to manage the financial aspects of patient care from initial evaluation through post‑transplant. You will collaborate with patients, families, clinicians and insurers to determine benefits, obtain pre‑certifications, explain costs and help identify funding options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years experience in transplant or related field.
• Ability to anticipate patient financial needs and communicate them clearly.
• Expert knowledge in determining third-party insurance medical benefits and billing.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial screening of patients for transplantation including out-of-pocket costs and coverage.
• Discuss benefits and transplant financial concerns with patients during evaluation.
• Advise patients on insurance and billing issues; address coverage gaps and funding options.
• Obtain payor authorizations, verify transplant coverage and other medical benefits, and coordinate referrals.
• Stay up-to-date on regulations to maximize financial coverage and complete time studies monthly.
• Monitor insurance data and assist patients with questions concerning financial issues.
