Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Transmission Planning and Studies Engineer to advance grid planning efforts across North America. You will perform steady-state and transient power system studies, collaborating with regional and global teams to deliver projects and support business development.

The role requires an advanced degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering and 4+ years with PSS/E, TARA, or PSCAD, plus experience with ISO-NE/NYISO/PJM/IESO. Travel within North America is expected.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering.
Minimum 4 years of direct experience with power system studies using PSS/E, TARA and/or PSCAD.
Strong background with ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, IESO.
Up to date knowledge of NERC, FERC, and NPCC reliability standards.
Team player with interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Ability and willingness to travel within North America.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of steady-state and transient power system studies.
Participate in meetings with utilities as part of project delivery or business development.
Lead or support project lifecycles from proposal to execution and close-out.
Collaborate with North American and global team members.
Participate in ISO/RTO stakeholder forums and stay updated with standards and requirements.
