Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Master’s-educated Electrical Engineer to lead power system studies for utility-scale renewables. You will perform internal and external studies, ensure interconnection compliance, and support lifecycle delivery from proposal to close-out.

Travel within North America is expected, with collaboration across North America and global teams. The role requires 4+ years’ experience, knowledge of IEC/IEEE/CIGRE, and proficiency in PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 4 years of direct experience with system studies on utility-scale renewable projects.
• Experience with power system studies using PSS/E, ETAP and PSCAD or equivalents.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and CIGRE standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities; strong teamwork and communication.
• Willingness to travel within North America.

Responsibilities

• Perform power system studies (internal to the plant) including load flow, short circuit, insulation coordination, TOV, arc flash and harmonics.
• Perform external power system studies related to interconnection to ensure compliance with interconnection requirements and NERC standards.
• Support system studies projects through the full lifecycle from bid to close-out.
• Contribute to on-time, on-budget delivery of projects.
• Collaborate with North America and global teams across clients including utilities and ISOs/RTOs.
• Participate in IEEE or CIGRE committees and ISO/RTO stakeholder forums.
