Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to perform power system studies for utility-scale renewable projects across North America. You will analyze load flow, short-circuit, insulation coordination, and harmonics, collaborating with teams globally to deliver on time and within budget.

The role requires a Master’s in Electrical Engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience, proficiency with PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD, and familiarity with IEEE/CIGRE standards. Travel within NA is expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 4+ years of direct experience with system studies on utility-scale renewable projects.
• Proficiency with PSS/E, ETAP and PSCAD.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and CIGRE standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform power system studies (internal to the plant) including load flow, short circuit, insulation coordination, TOV, arc flash and harmonics.
• Perform power system studies (external to the plant) related to interconnection to ensure compliance with interconnection requirements and NERC standards.
• Support system studies projects across the full lifecycle from proposal to execution and close-out.
• Contribute to delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with North America and global teams; interact with renewable developers, utilities, and ISOs/RTOs.
• Participate in ISO/RTO stakeholder forums and technical committees such as IEEE or CIGRE.
